JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Company, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for engine and mechanical transmissions applied to both civil and military aviation (i.e., accessory drivetrains, engine thermal management, turboprop & helicopter reduction gearboxes, etc.).
Process and quality improvement roles impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Previous experience in operational or technical roles in a complex manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Ability to analyze and use the Problem Solving Approach
- Knowledge and application on Lean Manufacturing Methodology and tools
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good relationship & leadership skills: able to influence, motivate and work effectively within a matrix environment
- Fluency in Italian and English
- Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
Responsibilities:
- Be partner of business Leader in the Lean transformation journey
- Support a Continuous improvement culture, where the whole team owns transformation plan
- Support complex & inter-functional improvement projects with a goal of enhanced performance
- Constantly seek, share, and implement best practices
- Give support and direction to cross-functional team empowered to execute the Lean strategy for process improvement
- Communicates solutions across the own function and with cross-functional partner organizations
- Facilitate, train, and coach other team members in the use of Lean tools
- Will be GEAPS advocate in the Area assigned, in order to drive adoption & cultural evolution
