LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Location: Ireland, Dundalk (Co.Louth) - Hybrid

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BSc/MSc in Human Resources, Learning and Development, Organisational Psychology, or a relevant field
  • Proven experience (3-5 years) in an L&D Manager role, with expertise in training design, development, delivery, and facilitation. Experience of working internationally and across regions is preferred
  • Current knowledge of effective L&D methods, including mentoring, e-learning, and simulations
  • Exceptional multitasking, independent working, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics
  • Comfortable public speaker with strong presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle, Blackboard, SAP Litmos, LinkedIn Learning, and other widely adopted systems in Europe for companies with more than 1000 employees
  • Experience in the retail sector and large-scale training
  • Proficient in MS Office and familiar with project management and budgeting
  • Ability to build rapport with employees and vendors
  • Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude

    Additional Information: The role requires the individual to work in person from the HQ in Dundalk a few days of the week. Reimbursement for mileage and other travel-related expenses will be provided.

Responsibilities:

We are searching for a dedicated Learning and Development (L&D) Manager to spearhead our client’s L&D initiatives. Based in Dundalk, Ireland, with a few days a week from the office, this role is pivotal in developing and executing a comprehensive learning strategy that aligns with our client’s organisational goals.
As part of the team, you will play a crucial role in fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth, ensuring employees have the skills needed to excel in their roles.

As Learning And Development Manager, your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Design and develop engaging learning programs, workshops, and e-learning courses tailored to meet the diverse needs of the international workforce
  • Collaborate with managers and department heads to identify learning and development needs and develop personalised training solutions
  • Recommend and implement innovative learning solutions
  • Deliver and facilitate training sessions, managing all coordination, planning, and logistics
  • Measure and analyse training effectiveness to inform future programs; prepare and present reports on program outcomes and return on investment to senior management
  • Identify specific talent development initiatives, resolve specific requirements, and tailor training programs as necessary
  • Provide coaching and support to managers and employees on performance improvement plans and career development initiatives
  • Establish a training approval process and track completion alongside training budgets
  • Facilitate the company’s performance review cycles of learning initiatives
  • Working with the rest of the People function, drive specialist or generalist training initiatives in line with organisational needs, run trials, and roll out successful initiatives across the organisation
  • Hold compliance training sessions in collaboration with the Head of Compliance
  • Introduce and manage a learning and development system (LMS) to provide easy and self-service access to learning material for employees to visualise career paths and required training for themselves
  • Facilitate group-wide training initiatives which may include travelling to other locations such as those forming part of the retail estate, as necessary (valid driver’s licence and car required).
