QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in designing and delivering leadership development and training programs.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
  • Proven experience working with LMS systems.
  • Insights Discovery Certification preferred.
  • Strong facilitation and coaching skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to measure and communicate the impact of training initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented, organized and able to prioritize workload.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with various subject matter experts and stakeholders.
  • A passion for continuous learning and staying current on industry trends.
  • Advanced in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
    Salary: $80,000 to $95,000.

Responsibilities:

The Learning and Development Specialist will play a crucial role in shaping the learning and growth of our employees. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive learning and development program that focuses on leadership development and training. You will work cross-functionally across the business deliver on the Learning strategy. This role is a 1-year contract position.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of a training roadmap/strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with People and Culture, department heads, and leadership to identify skills gaps, align leadership development programs with business objectives, and ensure the overall success of the Learning and Development initiatives.
  • Work with these teams to develop and deliver leadership development programs, including workshops, webinars, and coaching, to enhance leadership skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of learning and development strategies through feedback, metrics, and evaluation tools, making data-driven improvements.
  • Facilitate workshops and leadership coaching sessions that assist employees in gaining self-awareness, improved communication, and enhanced team dynamics.
  • Management of the current (HR Downloads) and future Learning Management System (LMS) in curating content, monitoring engagement, and continuously improving the platform’s usability and effectiveness.
  • Management of all learning courses and content.
  • Vendor evaluation management.
  • Management of upcoming training activities.
  • Responsible for communications to the training instructors/facilitators and employees before, during and after training.
  • Ensure all programs comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Managing and updating policies related to L&D.
  • Management of L&D programs, including Engineers and Geoscientist of BC, Member-In Training Program as well as Skilled Trades BC program.
  • All other duties as required.
