We are seeking to establish a Pool of Learning and Engagement Assistants to fill vacancies that may arise within the next 12 months for permanent, fixed term, full time, part time and casual opportunities.
We currently have 1 x Permanent part-time position (0.7FTE or 52.5hrs/fn) available for immediate filling; and
1 x Fixed Term part-time position (0.6FTE or 45 hrs/fn) will be available from 6 September 2024 for five months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for enthusiastic and engaging individuals, who are passionate about delivering programs in the Museum, enjoy problem solving and thrive in a customer-facing role.

The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Set-up, pack down and deliver programs, events, and activities including education and public programs, and online, digital, and off-site programs.
  • Assist with communication with program participants, including meeting and greeting and overall ensuring an exemplary level of customer service for visitors.
  • Participate in and contribute to Museum project teams.
  • Assist with administrative and production tasks related to bookings and program delivery, as required.
  • Ensure records are created and managed according to Records Management policy and procedures.

WRR 1- Demonstrated experience presenting engaging education programs to a variety of audiences.
WRR 2- Proven ability to work effectively with a range of age groups including early learners, primary and secondary students, adult learners, and educators and the broader public.
WRR 6- Knowledge of current engagement methods for a variety of audiences, and an understanding of how these impact visitor experience.

Responsibilities:

The Learning and Engagement Assistant’s role is to support the development, delivery, and evaluation of high-quality public programs, experiences and resources relating to the Western Australian Museum.
The role assists in the creation and implementation of visitor experiences which enhance the Museum visit from concept to delivery, as well as supporting the training of other Museum staff and volunteers for the delivery of these experiences, where necessary.
