Position Type & Pay Rate: Full-Time / $60,000-$96,000
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Learning and Development Training Coordinator will be pivotal in ensuring the successful onboarding and continuous growth of Boys and Girls Clubs of San Leandro (BGCSL) employees. Working under the general supervision of the Director of Programs Learning and Development and in collaboration with People & Culture, the coordinator will identify and address training and development needs. This role involves designing, developing, delivering, and managing comprehensive training and learning experiences at BGCSL in alignment with BGCA to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and overall performance. Additionally, the coordinator will work with Program leadership to develop site-specific support strategies, design a virtual learning management system, and assess training and learning impact through data and evaluation.
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION
- Develop and implement comprehensive programs for new employee experience and education, ensuring a smooth and effective transition into their roles.
- Develop and manage year-long thematic learning experiences that are site-specific.
- Further develop training strategies supporting current organizational-wide job descriptions for the entire employee life cycle.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, or human resources preferred, but not required. Course work in human resources is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in training and development, with a focus on youth development staff preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Proven ability to achieve training and development goals within an organization.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in maintaining positive associate relations.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentational communication skills.
- Strong commitment to the goals and philosophy of Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro, with the ability to communicate these goals and values to team members, applicants, and community contacts.
- Proficient in HR/LMS technology applications/platforms and MS Office to support the training and development of all staff.
- Willingness to travel to club site locations or local events within the San Leandro/San Lorenzo districts, approximately 15% of the time.
- Must provide own vehicle, allow for an MVR, have a valid state driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance.
- Proactive approach and a willingness to learn and adapt.

- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 25 pounds.
