SUMMARY

The Learning and Development Manager is a dynamic leader, collaborator, and facilitator, responsible for driving growth and cultivating a culture of continuous learning across the organization. In this role, you’ll craft and deliver effective learning solutions that equip our teams with the skills and knowledge to fuel business success. A key part of your mission will be to lead our management and leadership development programs, ensuring our current and future leaders are equipped to inspire, innovate, and drive the organization forward.
You’ll be responsible for the full cycle of learning solutions, from needs assessment, design, delivery, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring that each program is impactful and aligned with business goals. From training initiatives to leadership development, you’ll be at the center of our learning journey, guiding everything from identifying learning gaps to collaborating with vendors.
You’ll manage our learning management system (LMS) and use innovative technology to ensure learning is engaging and accessible. With creativity and innovation, you’ll design strategies that not only enhance employee performance but also celebrate achievements and elevate leadership skills driving the organization toward achieving its goals and fulfilling our mission. This position reports to the Vice President of Human Resources.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in learning and development, training, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Certification in training or learning and development (e.g., CPTD, APTD) is preferred.
  • Experience with e-learning platforms and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design principles including familiarity with instructional design, technology-based learning, skill development, change management, and process design.
  • Demonstrated teaching, coaching, mentoring or training experience.
  • Experience leading organizational change efforts, especially in creating a learning-centered culture.
  • Strategic vision with the ability to assess individual and team skills and knowledge within an organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring leadership development, including personalized learning programs.
  • Knowledge and experience in companies with multiple locations with remote staff and centralized efforts.
  • High level of computer proficiency including working knowledge of training and communication tools strongly preferred (for example: Captivate, WebEx, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Must have engaging presentation, facilitation, and exceptional communication skills, with the ability to captivate and persuade an audience through compelling delivery, active listening, and sound reasoning.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in leveraging a variety of training mediums, including instructor-led, web-based, self-paced and blended-approaches to deliver learning solutions across the organization.
  • Ability to perform in a busy, changing, multi-tasking work environment.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and property management regulations preferred.
  • Must have reliable transportation and valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance as occasional travel between properties is required.

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Partner closely with organizational leaders, managers and HR colleagues to identify key opportunities to enhance execution of business strategies and/or close gaps to achieve organizational goals.
  • Identify training/education learning objectives, outcomes, and developmental models for a diverse set of learning activities.
  • Lead Aeon’s efforts to be a learning organization: creating a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and knowledge-sharing.
  • Assess organizational-wide training and development needs. Identify, arrange, or develop appropriate training solutions.
  • Design engaging and effective learning materials, including e-learning courses, workshops, and on-the-job training.
  • Create a leadership curriculum aimed at developing future leaders who drive innovation, team-building, and foster collaboration across departments.
  • Assist to develop career growth programs and opportunities for employee growth.
  • Manage the learning management system (LMS) and track employee participation and progress in development programs.
  • Leverage data analytics to assess the effectiveness of learning programs, refining them based on feedback and performance data.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making improvements based on feedback and performance data.
  • Monitor metrics and calculate ROI statistics for the Employee Development function, providing detailed reports on the impact and effectiveness of programs.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends in learning and development to ensure that programs remain innovative and impactful.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
