JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

As the Learning and Development Specialist, your primary responsible will be the site Training and Learning function which involves the management, co-ordination, documentation of associate training and development.
Emphasis will be placed on ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements and development of the associates’ skills and knowledge to meet the company’s strategic objectives. The Learning and Development Specialist will also hold responsibility for the implementation of associate leadership and skills development programmes in conjunction with BD Talent Management Centre of Excellence.
This role reports to the Senior BD Excellence Manager.

This role is being offered on a hybrid working model and we would ideally be looking for a commitment to work onsite Monday - Thursday, with Friday being a work from home day.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Learning function at the BD Enniscorthy Site to ensure that training is planned, effective, consistent and recorded to meet legislative, regulatory and company requirements.
  • Manage IDA grant applications for training needs across each business unit as and when needed.
  • Conduct regular Learning & Development Needs Analysis to identify requirements based on Organisational and Departmental objectives.
  • Design metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the programs and continue to fine-tune and improve to ensure the best practice is delivered.
  • Identify, track and report on relevant metrics and continually evaluate results and costs to assess effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Planning, design and delivery of Training sessions, including Ad Hoc Training, for both new and existing team members.
  • Providing advice around learning and development, career development, employee engagement and change management.
  • Prepare and execute an annual Learning and Development plan for approval by the Site Leadership Team that optimizes available training resources to meet business goals and strategic objectives.
  • Oversee training programs that include web-based seminars, printed manuals, group sessions, training videos, and more.
  • Co-ordinate training activities in the BD Enniscorthy plant and report on compliance to the BD Enniscorthy LT aligned to a progressive learning and team culture.
  • Management and development of the C2C Learning Management System to optimize the recording, assigning and tracking of training and to ensure compliance with all requirements.
  • Partner with Leaders to ensure robust learning and development plans are tailored to each role requirement.
  • Collaborate with BD University and the Leadership Team to ensure ongoing leadership development through a robust site learning action plan.
  • Drive best in class standards in learning design and delivery.
  • Support the site Continuous Improvement function through the development of a CI Training Programme as well as promoting employee engagement with CI requirements including BD Excellence.
  • Co-ordinate the work schedule of the Operations trainers with the Shift Managers to ensure that Operational training goals and flexibility targets are achieved.
  • Work in partnership with Subject Matter Experts in developing learning materials and methods for new and changed processes.
  • Develop Innovative and Advanced Training Techniques into our learning model when required e.g. during the Covid pandemic.
  • Support the execution of special projects as needed, such as the organization of department-wide trainings/events.
  • Be an integral part of the Kaizen culture on site and ensure to take part in and lead Kaizens on site.
  • Play the role of a CI Facilitator when required during annual Shingijutsu Kaizen events.
  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.
