Description:

NextStar Energy (NSE) is a joint venture between LG Energy Solution and Stellantis. NextStar Energy will be Canada’s first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the site on over 200-acres of land on Twin Oaks Drive near Banwell Road.
The manufacturing facility is targeted to have an annual production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Learning and Development Specialist to join our Human Resources team.
As part of the HR team, the Learning and Development Specialist is responsible to facilitate the growth and development of our employees across various departments. This role will collaborate closely with leadership and managers to design, implement and evaluate effective learning initiatives that align with our organization’s goals and values.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in instructional design, which includes delivering, developing, and/or evaluating learning materials.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms.
  • Strong ability to communicate, build relationships, and collaborate with all stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and a demonstrated understanding of how to integrate DEI into learning and development initiatives.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3 years of experience in a position where you have facilitated adult learning in a workplace setting.
  • Experience working in a fast paced manufacturing facility.
  • Advanced level using LMS systems, Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement training programs that are needed in specific departments.
  • Responsible for scheduling meetings, appointments, and events across different departments to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Manage our internal learning portal, track employee training needs, and monitor completed courses in the companies training matrices.
  • Ability to support all HR functions within our department including planning, recruitment, and onboarding.
  • Collaborate with our Culture Lead on how to engage our teams and reinforce our positive work culture.
  • Monitor and provide actions to ensure our audit capabilities are accurate and compliant with regulations and standards.
  • Undertake additional tasks and special projects as needed.
  • Be a team player who focuses on improving our work, communities, and our global health.
  • Prepare and set up training rooms according to the specifications of the training program.
  • Arrange seating, audio-visual equipment, and necessary materials.
  • Ensure all technical equipment is functional and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Organize and distribute materials to trainers and participants before and during sessions.
  • Plan and coordinate meal arrangements for training events, considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of training logistics.
