As a Learning & Development Specialist (Pushback & Towing Operations) , you will manage planning, analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of learning and development solutions for functional areas to support business goals. You will also ensure that adequate resources are planned for and that the learning solutions are deliv ered as per the programme design and to the predefined standards. Changes will be managed to the requirements & business needs in consultation with the business as per the laid down guidelines and the procedures.

Diploma and 10+ years’ experience in Aviation and Training, Psychology or Organisational Development

  • Extensive experience in Pushback & Towing Operations
  • Knowledge of training packages, relevant competency and performance standards, policies, legal requirements, codes of practice and national and international standards and industry best practices to be used as the basis of the learning program
  • Knowledge of Instructional design principles relating to different design options for learning program design and structure
  • Relevant OHS knowledge relating to the work role, and OHS considerations that need to be included in the learning program
  • Sound evaluation skills to determine the time required for each learning segment and the overall timelines of the learning program. Sound cognitive skills to develop the learning program content and design its structure
  • Ability to read and interpret a range of documentation, including technical and subject matter documents
  • Proficient Budget and Cost Control Knowledge
  • Advanced Quality Orientation Skills
  • Advanced Safety Awareness Skills
  • Proficient Data Collection and Analysis Skill

Responsibilities:

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

  • Plan and organize training need analysis to identify skill gaps amongst the staff on a pro-active basis, define training requirements for a department in agreement with the key stakeholders.
  • Organize scoping and business priority setting for strategic business changes involving business stakeholders and plan communications to engage key stakeholders such as the line managers, SMEs, training management team, safety team etc. to setup expectations.
  • Establish an effective training feedback mechanism aimed at continuous improvement of learning & development initiative to manage implementation of performance evaluation results. Drive a culture of efficiency by adhering to the agreed budget and identifying and implementing cost-effective work practices.
  • Provide performance consulting to business on ways to improve existing processes and introduce new processes. Design and deliver training intervention in line with organizational/ functional requirements to ensure effective and high-quality delivery of training to employees.
  • Develop talent within the team by providing consistent direction and support to achieve business goals and take leadership positions. Enhance team productivity through skills development through coaching & training.
  • Develop expertise in the respective area of specialisation and through on-job observations and attachments, feed-in relevant business data and changes in business environments to the Manager, so as to influence L&D plans and support analysis of business impact for better alignment of L&D interventions.
  • Ensures safety of staff and that they have the skills, knowledge, and confidence to work safely by providing support and direction.
  • Implement plans in alignment with the departmental mission, values, goals and policies; demonstrate behaviours to represent and promote these and act as a champion in change management.
  • Ensure that assigned L&D projects are delivered on time, within budget, in adherence with quality standards to meet customer expectations by tracking key milestones.
  • The job holder will coordinate communication with all key stakeholders to ensure that the projects are aligned with the overall programme portfolio managed by the respective Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE ROLE, YOU MUST MEET THE BELOW REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years’ experience in Aviation and Training, Psychology or Organisational Development
