GGC is actively searching for a Leaning & Evaluation Specialist (Contract - 24months)

  • Hybrid work arrangement, must be based in the Greater Toronto Area

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Related post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
  • 3 years of related work experience in evaluation and adult learning.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and reporting on learning evaluation activities.
  • Experience developing and applying logic models and evaluation frameworks
  • Knowledge of adult learning, experiential learning, and other instructional design approaches
  • Experience assessing needs and providing recommendations for the design and development of learning materials and resources.
  • An elevated understanding of best practices in evaluation and adult learning.
  • Self-driven and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present findings and recommendations effectively.
  • Resourcefulness, critical thinking, and solutions focused.
  • Strong adaptability and flexibility with a high degree of comfort with change.
  • Working knowledge and competency with MS Office, including SharePoint, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Flexible travel as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Frameworks: Develop comprehensive logic model and evaluation framework for the Learning & Engagement team to assess the effectiveness of learning programs and initiatives.

  • Apply Frameworks: Collaborate with Learning & Engagement Specialists to apply the logic model and evaluation framework and develop, review, or revise learning evaluation strategies for designated projects.

  • Strategic Alignment: Ensure activities align with desired outcomes and objectives as outlined in organizational strategic goals.
  • Assess Information Needs: Identify information collection needs to support effective evaluation of learning programs and the Unit Guider role working in partnership with internal teams who conduct information gathering.
  • Service Delivery Model: Apply best practices in user experience and adult education to inform the Learning & Engagement team’s model for providing service to internal teams.
  • Analysis and Recommendations: Support the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data and contribute to actionable recommendations for improvement to better serve outcomes.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with staff and volunteers including consultations, advisory groups, and on project teams coordinating project work to meet deadlines.
  • Continuous Improvement of Member Supports: Develop, implement, and evaluate member support systems by monitoring trends and best practices in volunteerism and adult learning.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff and volunteers on evaluation techniques and the use of evaluation tools.
  • Inclusivity: Apply organizational policies regarding inclusivity to content, member communications, and customer service.
  • Ongoing Learning: Stay updated with the latest methodologies and best practices in knowledge management, learning, and evaluation.
