MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3-5 yrs experience with Operations Management (and project/program and financial management)
- Experience in a supervisory role with operational-related skills and with experience managing employees within a large, complex, unionized environment (prior U of A experience an asset)
- Post-secondary degree in a related field relevant to post-secondary student learning, financial, operational management and/or supervision. Examples include (BA/MA, BSC/MSc, Business (HRM, Finance, PMP, Mgmnt etc.))
- Demonstrated leadership, diplomacy and ability to advocate for adherence to approved projects/programs, policies and procedures
- computer proficiency (collection and interpretation) related to data metrics, electronic records, databases, communication and online research; intermediate or higher skills with Microsoft Suite, Word, Excel, Monday.com, and google applications
- Superior organizational and time management skills with the proven ability to efficiently manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet competing deadlines
- Superior verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to develop and deliver professional presentation(s) to a diverse audience(s) in formal and informal settings to both clients and staff
- Excellent solution-seeking skills with the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with staff, students, and other service providers using a collaborative team-based approach to solve individual and team issues
- Resourcefulness – finds way to complete tasks and solve challenges
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive, professional, collaborative working relationships with staff and both internal / external clients at all organizational levels

- Working knowledge of post-secondary learning environments (and the University of Alberta), including faculties, processes, services and community resources

- Superior interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build/maintain strategic relationships
- Ability to interact professionally, knowledgeably, comfortably, positively and respectfully with diverse individuals / stakeholders / staff with a broad range of credentials, abilities and tenure within a demanding, fast-paced, and often stressful work environment
- Proven conflict resolution skills with the ability to de-escalate and resolve complex stakeholder and staff issues and concerns
- Fluency in French an asset
Responsibilities:
The Team Lead will be responsible for:
- Operational (project and program) management, oversight and decision-making
- Operational policy/procedure responsibility/coordination/implementation and maintenance
- Office Management (administration, financial, technical)
- Supervision of Learning Strategies team staff
- Collaboration with Learning Strategies Team and Director, other DoS units, and community stakeholders
