IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL PROVIDE HIGHLY EFFECTIVE, TARGETED PROVISION AND CARE TO PUPILS, WORKING CLOSELY WITH TEACHERS AND SENIOR LEADERS TO RAISE STANDARDS OF ACHIEVEMENT AND FOSTER INDEPENDENT LEARNING. YOU’LL PLAY A CRUCIAL PART IN ENSURING THE WELFARE AND INCLUSION OF ALL PUPILS, PROMOTING THE ETHOS AND VALUES OF OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY.

Your role will involve supporting the medical needs of pupils. This includes assisting with first aid, diabetes management, medication administration, and providing specialist welfare support for pupils with sensory and/or physical impairments. You will develop the specialist knowledge required to provide appropriate personal care or therapy and offer healthcare support to children with complex healthcare needs, including those with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support the learning of pupils by working as part of a team under the direction of the responsible Teacher. Your responsibilities will include facilitating the learning of individual pupils and groups, preparing and delivering specific intervention programmes, and promoting the social and emotional development of pupils. Additionally, you will supervise break and lunchtimes, organize and participate in games and activities, and facilitate extra-curricular activities, after-school clubs, and residential trips.
In supporting Teachers, you will follow teaching plans to scaffold learning, prepare learning materials, and monitor and evaluate pupil responses to learning activities. You will provide objective and accurate feedback on pupil progress, keep and update records, and assist in the marking of pupil work and invigilation of assessments. By promoting home-school partnerships and working within the school’s behaviour policy, you will help manage behaviour constructively and encourage pupil independence.
