Meeting Street is currently looking for a Learning Support Specialist for 25 hours per week.
Duties:
- Implement an academic support program for students in grades K-8. Focus will be on study skills, executive functioning training, and content-driven work.
- Provide intervention and remediation for students in need of academic support.
- Support teachers in implementing necessary accommodations and differentiated instruction.
- Work with students, families, and outside professionals to better support the needs of our students.
- Work 1:1 with students to develop study skills taught in the context of a student’s coursework that addresses a student’s learning needs and leads to independence.
- Interpret evaluations, write learning profiles, and oversee the implementation of recommendations and accommodations for students with a diagnosed learning difference.
- Work with families to guide students through the process of evaluation and/or re-evaluation.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials that consistently contain diverse content throughout the academic year.
