Description:

The Leave Specialist 3 performs as a team lead for the leave administration program, and provides SME to other leave team members, develops and integrates new process for administering leaves of absence, as well as managing assigned leave and accommodation cases, coordinating with the HRBP and Manager as appropriate and ensuring timely update of status for their portfolio of cases. Responsible for ad hoc reporting for the leave program as well as handles escalation of more complex leave situations.

  1. Customer Service:
  • Independently serves as leave of absence, Disability and Accommodation subject matter expert lead, handling escalations from Leave Reps and Specialists. Utilizing knowledge and expertise to participate in meetings and projects impacting leave of absence program.
  • Assists team member, leaders, and other HR staff in all stages of the leave life cycle (initial request, pay while on leave, documentation, and return to work), and able to provide reference to various company policies and procedures regarding a variety of situations.
  • Coordinates with all applicable parties including legal counsel to administer FMLA, state mandated, company leaves, and work place accommodations as assigned.
  • Creates and updates leave of absence records in HRIS system and leave management system.
  • Assists in the development of self-service tools for benefits and coordination of company-wide annual benefit enrollment process for employee benefits, including training/educating askHR Performance Team on changes.
  1. Departmental Support:
  • Creates processes and procedures related to activities of the Leave of Absence program with approval of management.
  • Works with other internal departments and external vendors as assigned to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction and makes referrals to the appropriate resource for situations requiring specific attention or on behalf of other HR CoEs.
  • Investigates, analyzes, and resolves a wide range of escalated issues related to leave of absence, disability and workplace accommodation. Successfully prioritizes and resolves issues to ensure consistent internal and external customer satisfaction. Ensures that decisions are finalized and communicated within the timeframe designated in regulations and/or policies if applicable.
  • Acts as the Leave of absence lead on escalated document review, hardship review, complex leave situations, and HRIS initiatives and system QA testing and issue resolution.
  • Escalates appropriate issues to HR Coe’s and/or Service Delivery Manager.
  • Assists in the development of self-service tools for leave of absence program, disability and workplace accommodations, including forms and tracks change management.
  1. Research:
  • Conduct research on behalf of Coe’s to resolve submitted cases or escalated inquiries from Leave Rep or Specialist 1/2 by clarifying company policy/practice or regulations.
  • Determines and addresses any unstated needs and anticipates additional considerations and questions.
  1. Quality:
  • Performs monthly random audits on leave cases to reinforce high standards of accuracy and compliance with regulations and policy.Performs payroll audits each pay period to ensure accuracy of timekeeping for leave of absence cases.
  • 4 years of HR
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Advanced Computer skills, Highly developed oral and written communication skills to work with all levels of management; Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills. Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills. Advanced Leadership skills and Expert knowledge in Leave and Disability Regulations
