Join a team of dynamic professionals at the School of Business Management, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future leaders of the Food and Beverage Industry. As an Academic Lecturer in Food and Beverage Management, you will not merely deliver lectures; you will be fostering a culture of excellence and innovation in areas such as Sustainable Practices, Farm-to-Table Concepts, and Advanced Service Techniques. You will also contribute to the development of academic modules, crafting curricula that stay current with industry standards and anticipate future trends. You will mentor and guide your students not only in their academic pursuits but also in their professional growth, preparing them to make significant contributions to the food and beverage industry. Your cross-departmental collaborations and partnerships with industry professionals will ensure that our programs remain cutting-edge and relevant, equipping students for the evolving challenges and opportunities in the field. This role is more than teaching; it is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on your students, the academic community, and the broader industry.

[What you will be working on]

  • Develop and deliver academic modules in Food & Beverage Business Management for both Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET).
  • Support and guide learners in their holistic development, including providing pastoral care, supervision for projects and competitions.
  • Supervise and train learners during practical attachment to the Teaching Enterprise Project (TEP) training restaurant and/or training café.
  • Mentor learners during Internship Programme (ITP).
  • Develop strong relationships and collaborate on projects with industry partners as well as plan, coordinate and execute events for alumni.
  • Provide management support and general administration for the training restaurant including purchasing administration, inventory control and financial administration.
  • Maintain operation readiness and upkeep of training equipment, servicing and preventive maintenance works for the training restaurant.
  • Provide training to learners on purchasing and inventory management as well as the use of the Restaurant Management System (RMS).

[What we are looking for]
• Relevant qualifications in Food & Beverage Management, Culinary Arts, Hospitality or related discipline.

• Candidate should possess at least 4 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Food & Beverage Management
  • Restaurant Service & Operations
  • Wine & Beverage Knowledge and Service
  • Training/ Coaching

• Strong communication skills, good interpersonal skills, team player, ability to meet deadlines, and multi-task.
• Hands-on and field experience in food & beverage business operations and management is a must.
• Strong presentation and writing skills in English.
• Passion to nurture and develop potential in learners.
• Academic/teaching experience is an added advantage.
• Systematic and detailed in planning and organising.
• Good team player, self-driven and service-oriented
