Constructor University invites applications for the following position for a mini job ("geringfügige Beschäftigung")/external lecturer contract type, to be filled by January 2025: Lecturer for Pure Mathematics
Constructor University seeks an inspired lecturer that would teach the foundation year module Pure Mathematics for the upcoming Spring Semester. The International foundation year program offers small class groups and thus the interested candidate will be expected to teach one module in a capped classroom (approx. 30 students). This individual will receive multiple support and guidance from the International Foundation Year team and the opportunity to grow their career within the department.

Your responsibilities:

• Demonstrable interest in innovative teaching and learning approaches.
• Teaching an introductory mathematics module.
• Supervision of learning processes and assessing their outcomes through weekly tutorials.
• Administration, proctoring and correction of student examinations (midterm and final).
• Effective use and population of Learning Management Systems (e.g. Moodle) for course material (e.g. slides) and assessment (e.g. assignments, online quizzes) delivery.

Your qualifications:

• At least a master’s degree in mathematics or a related field.
• Proven experience in teaching mathematics-related subjects.
• Proven experience in teaching in international and diverse environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Fluency in English, the language of instruction and communication on campus.
• Intercultural experience and competence.
