Description:
The Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology, which is located in the Division of Health Research and Faculty of Health and Medicine, is seeking to appoint a part-time Lecturer in Clinical Psychology to join our innovative professional training team, within a high-quality research active department.
Due to a recent substantial expansion in training commissions provided by Health Education England, we are seeking to appoint new academic staff to help oversee the development of the next generation of NHS clinical psychologists. We are looking to appoint candidates whose skills and experiences will complement our existing expertise in clinical psychology and to further develop our research and teaching in this area.
You must be able to demonstrate the potential to make a high-quality contribution to the future profile of clinical psychology and mental health research conducted across the programme and the research groups within the Division of Health Research.
You will have a Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or an equivalent such as a DPsych in Counselling Psychology or a PhD with appropriate experience in clinical psychology related research. You will also be able to deliver high quality and engaging teaching and should have particular experience in supervising postgraduate, ideally doctorate students. You should be able to demonstrate a commitment to professional training, and inclusive practices in relation to it.
Primary duties of the post will comprise the supervision of doctoral trainee research, supporting teaching and assessment activities on the programme and providing pastoral support to trainees. Professionally qualified appointees may also have the opportunity to engage in activities such as clinical interventions and supervision and evaluation of clinical practice as part of their overall workload.
The Faculty provides an environment that strongly supports the individual needs of each employee, promoting a healthy work-life balance. We are committed to family-friendly and flexible working policies on an individual basis, as well as the Athena SWAN Charter, which recognises and celebrates good employment practice undertaken to address gender equality in higher education.
The position is available for an immediate start and flexible working arrangements, including working week and days/hours worked, flexible start and finish times, condensed hours can be discussed.
Applicants wishing to consider the Skilled Worker Route should ensure they meet the points requirement before applying. Further information can be found on the UK Visas and Immigration website.
Informal enquiries are welcome and should be made to either Professor Bill Sellwood (Programme Director – b.sellwood@lancaster.ac.uk) on the DClinPsy programme or to Professor Mark Limmer (m.limmer@lancaster.ac.uk) Head of the Division of Health .
