Responsibilities:

The position will be within the Department of Communication and Journalism within the Faculty of Media and Communication.
The Department of Communication & Journalism’s reputation for innovative, collaborative, industry-leading courses means our students benefit from gaining industry professional body qualifications and placements together with their degrees, which provides a rewarding and exciting environment for lecturers.
As Lecturer in Journalism, you will be able to demonstrate skills in digital journalism, sports journalism and/or journalism in general. Enthusiastic about student-centred pedagogy, you will contribute to education delivery, including programme management as required, across the range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will also make a significant contribution to employability, and professional engagement with relevant internal and external organisations, at a regional, national and international level. Knowledge of the NCTJ requirements will be welcomed.
The position ideally requires a Doctorate. However, consideration will be given to candidates with the relevant experience and achievements within the journalism field. We will welcome candidates that are committed to a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement.
