The bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, offered at Polytechnique Montréal for over 35 years, is a rigorous academic program that contextualizes the theoretical knowledge acquired, incorporating technological, economic, human and management dimensions, along with the practical knowledge gained by working with companies. Digital transformation is playing a key role in industrial engineering with the advent of “Industry 4.0,” industrial analytics and artificial intelligence.
The department is seeking a lecturer to teach in the areas of digital technologies related to corporate information systems and process transformation in the bachelor of industrial engineering program. This includes manufacturing-management systems, related programming languages and data management, processing and security in an industrial context.

Candidates should have the following skills:

  • Experience in applying digital transformation to at least one of the following industrial engineering challenges: ergonomics, manufacturing, quality, logistics or sustainable development;
  • Mastery of tools for designing secure information systems, guiding production and integrating production or performance indicators;
  • Command of artificial intelligence methods and techniques applied to the processing and extraction of knowledge from production data.

  • Be able to contribute positively to the department’s working environment and adhere to Polytechnique’s values of excellence, creativity, integrity, collaboration, respect and openness;
  • Have a sufficient command of oral and written French before submitting their tenure file, since French is the language of instruction at Polytechnique Montréal.

Polytechnique Montréal will provide the candidate with the necessary assistance and support to register with the OIQ and to learn French.
Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in engineering or with industry experience are encouraged to include this in their application.
