Description:
ABOUT US
The Research Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology is part of UCL’s Division of Psychology and Language Sciences (PALS). Psychology at UCL was ranked 2rd in the world in the Shanghai University Rankings. This reflects the excellent links between teaching, professional training and research within PALS, the wide range of research expertise represented within PALS and UCL more widely, and the excellent opportunities for collaboration and interdisciplinary research provided at UCL. The Research Department has a strong record in the development and evaluation of novel psychological interventions based on an understanding of neuroscience, developmental psychology and the mechanisms underpinning mental disorders. It has excellent collaborations with the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, Experimental Psychology and Psychiatry, and with NHS clinical services. The UCL Doctorate in Clinical Psychology is the largest training course for Clinical Psychologists in the country. The core purpose of the course is to train NHS Clinical Psychologists who are compassionate and reflective scientist-practitioners able to engage with multiple perspectives.
