ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Lecturer in any quantitative social science discipline to contribute to teaching and research.
- Relevant fields include, but are not limited to: sociology, economics, psychology, social policy, and political science.
- Applicants with an interest in data science, in particular, in the application of big data, machine learning, and natural language processing techniques to social science topics, are especially welcome.
You will be expected to enhance our interdisciplinary research portfolio, with a focus on the application of quantitative social science research methods to real world problems. You will be expected to seek research funding from a range of sources, and to be able to generate demonstratable impact and engagement in their work. You will also be expected to lead modules on our BSc Social Sciences with Data Science or MSc Social Research Methods and may apply to co-lead these programmes in the future. The appointee will contribute to the life and functioning of the department more broadly.
