An exciting opportunity has arisen within the School of Health, Social Work and Sport, for a Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology. The School is home to a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and CPD opportunities taught on-campus and by distance learning and we are proud of our commitment to delivering high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and CPD opportunities with a strong research, industry, and practitioner-inspired teaching philosophy. The successful applicant will lead and deliver several Sport and Exercise Psychology modules that sit in our Sport and Exercise Science programmes.
We are looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic, dynamic and passionate about delivering and enhancing the Sport and Exercise Psychology provision offered to students on Sport and Exercise Science programmes. Extensive practical and theoretical knowledge in the subject area is essential, as is relevant work experience and professional qualifications. A first degree in Sport Science, Psychology or a related discipline is essential with expertise in sport and exercise psychology. A PhD or a MSc qualification and evidence of being capable of doctoral level study is also essential. A teaching qualification or the capability and willingness to achieve this qualification within a defined timescale are also essential. Registration as a Sport and Exercise Psychologist is desirable. In addition, you must either hold a teaching qualification or be willing to undertake a University teaching qualification on appointment.
