COURSE DESCRIPTION

Examines social welfare policies and services in the United States; diverse social, political, and economic assumptions underlying the social welfare system, including global context; and the role of the social work profession in developing social policy, addressing social problems, and advancing social and economic justice.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• A Master of Social Work degree
• Five years of post-MSW related experience.
• Two years of experience in a leadership or policy related position in a social service agency/organization
• Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working within the State of California is a condition of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensure.
• A doctoral degree in Social Work or in a closely related field.
• Experience in teaching university classes and with instructional technology.

SALARY COMMENSURATE WITH DEGREE LEVEL AND EXPERIENCE

• Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,007 - $6,359 per full-time month
• CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,007 - $6,359 per full-time month
