Responsibilities:

Applications are invited for an externally funded four-year fixed-term position in the Department of Civil and Natural Resources Engineering at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level (equivalent to Assistant and Associate Professor in North America, respectively). The Department will consider applications for appointment at higher levels.
The Civil Systems Engineering group provides leadership on resilient development and management of civil and natural systems. We welcome applications from candidates from a broad range of backgrounds, including, but not limited to risk, resilience, complexity, economics, and/or smart information systems. Our new faculty may use methods from data science, operations research, policy analysis, network theory, and/or systems modelling. They will be expected to engage in interdisciplinary collaborations within the university and wider community. Together, our group will tackle challenges such as: climate change adaptation and mitigation; climate resilient development; integrated sustainable systems for infrastructure, energy and agriculture; and smart and healthy cities.
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to develop alongside others in a progressive, supportive, and productive department. You would be joining a vibrant and collaborative team and would play a leading role in shaping our direction. This role also provides key ingredients for successful and high impact research due to the department’s engagement and leadership in the resilience, construction, transportation, building services, and natural hazards sectors.
