Description:
[What the role is]
As a Lecturer, the role involves not only curriculum development and facilitating learning, but also in developing and nurturing the potential of learners in their lifelong learning and career aspirations. There will also be engagement in industry or research projects to stay current with industry developments and adapt to changing industry trends, and establish robust connections with industry partners.
[What you will be working on]
- Conduct training and involve in curriculum development, course delivery, course assessment, project supervision, mentoring of learners for both Pre-Employment Training (PET), and Continuing Education & Training (CET) in areas related to Precision Machining, Computer-aided Modelling (CAD), Industry 4.0 Technologies, and Metrology.
- Spearhead and lead industry/development projects in CNC machining and Industry 4.0 domains.
- Coach and mentor learners in the development of critical core skills beyond classroom.
- Lead or represent in committees and contribute to school’s needs (such as outreach, open house, graduations activities).
- Oversee and manage lab equipment and operations
- Engage with industry, professional bodies, IHLs and related agencies to identify new opportunities, initiatives and collaborations in response to changing Precision Engineering landscape.
[What we are looking for]
- Relevant qualifications in Engineering or Applied Science
- 5 years of working experience in areas related to Precision Machining, Data Analytics, and QA/QC
- Possess relevant experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- CNC machining (lathe and milling)
- Computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD and CAM)
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (such as Python, Java, MSSQL)
- Competent in digital skills, Industry 4.0, and/or cyber security industry practices
- Metrology, Basic and Advanced Measuring Equipment
