Description:
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for the development and delivering of Continuing Education and Training (CET) and Pre-Employment Training (PET) programmes in the areas of animal care, and veterinary nursing.
- Develop and conduct lectures, tutorials, and practicals in full-time and part-time courses.
- Manage and perform day-to-day operations at TP Animal Clinic and Wellness (TPACW) as a veterinary technician on a rotating schedule.
- Train and supervise student trainees at TPACW.
- Conduct and facilitate student-industry collaboration projects.
- Carry out administrative duties to support academic and clinic operations.
- Able to work in the evenings for CET night classes.
- Mentor students in character development and career readiness.
- Provide pastoral care for students.
Requirements
- Qualification in veterinary technology/veterinary nursing or its equivalent from recognised institutions.
- At least 3-5 years of relevant industrial experience in a vet clinic/animal hospital.
- Experience in animal rehabilitation is preferred.
- Familiar with ‘Day One Competences’ for Veterinary Nurses.
- Have a passion for developing talents, and genuine interest to share knowledge and interact with youths and adult learners.
- Keen to be involved in applied research/industry projects.
- Resourceful and able to work independently to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated capacity to work within a team.
