Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY
Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.
The Office of the Clerk is seeking a detail oriented, analytical and collaborative individual for the regular full-time position of Corporate Policy Analyst.
Reporting to the Senior Policy and Planning Analyst, the Corporate Policy Analyst plays a key role leading the development and refinement of operational policies and contributing to corporate service initiatives as part of the Governance and Corporate Support Unit within the Office of the Clerk. The focus of this role is operational which offers the opportunity for the Analyst to work on a range of policies and projects related to financial resources, human resources, information technology, information management, the Legislative Precinct and Legislative Assembly services, which impact Members of the Legislative Assembly and their staff, caucuses, Legislative Assembly employees, contractors, and visitors. The Analyst conducts detailed research, engages departmental leaders, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to assess policy and program validity and deficiencies, analyzes options, advises improvements, drafts new policies or amendments in accordance with best practices, and prepares briefing materials for governance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have:
- Post-secondary education in public or business administration or a related program, plus at least one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience researching, analyzing, or summarizing complex information or data in a concise manner.
