REQUIREMENTS:

• Possess a Law degree from a recognized university, and qualified in commonwealth jurisdictions
• Ideally 5-8 years PQE, with strong PE funds origination, structuring and investments background
• Real estate background an advantage
• Open to legal candidates from private practice with strong private equity investment experience
• Demonstrate strong technical skills with commercial and innovative lens to meet business objectives
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment on complex legal and regulatory issues
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Suitable for funds legal professional seeking to specialize in real estate private equity and working become a valuable team member with a highly ambitious global real estate business.

This is a newly created role and one of our key hires for 2024. We are seeking a proficient and experienced Funds Legal & Transaction Counsel to join our team in Singapore. You will be overseeing the structuring, negotiation, and execution of real estate funds whilst working closely with the acquisition and development team. The role will also oversee compliance with regulatory standards for our MAS capital markets licensed business.

• Fund Origination: Lead the legal aspects of fund formation, including the drafting and negotiation of JV and limited partnership agreements and ancillary fund documents working alongside external Legal Counsel.
• Investment Structuring : Collaborate with the acquisition and development team to ensure alignment with fund objectives, investment expectations and support acquisition and development team with transaction legals.
• Transaction Due Diligence: Conduct counterparty legal and commercial due diligence and responsible for overseeing the Fund’s legal risk management framework and providing strategic counsel to senior management
• Group Corporate, Fund Governance & Reporting: Supervise corporate governance matters across fund and corporate group and oversee regular reporting and compliance to MAS regulations, and support the group’s legal function such as NDAs and provide pragmatic and strategic advice to business unit heads
