QUALIFICATIONS

  • Legal Assistant or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited post secondary institution or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Legal experience preferably in corporate commercial law with an emphasis on secured lending and real estate
  • Strong technical skills using Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe
  • Experience working with 3E, InTapp, iManage, DocuSign would be preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Banking and commercial real estate transactions – drafting security and supporting/ancillary documents for commercial lending transactions, drafting documents for commercial real estate transactions, registering documents in the Land Title Office and Personal Property Registry, attending to the receipt and disbursement of trust funds
  • Real Estate related due diligence searches and reporting
  • Maintaining an efficient file management and bring forward system
  • Ensuring all physical and electronic filing is organized and up to date on a regular basis
  • Interacting with clients and coordinating meetings
  • Delegating tasks to, and coordinating with, other administrative departments
  • Other duties as assigned
