Description:

Goldberg Segalla, a dynamic and collaborative law firm with a national presence, seeks a highly motivated and organized individual to join its Civil Litigation team as a Legal Assistant in its Orlando office.
The legal Assistant will provide administrative and secretarial support to assigned attorneys and provide backup to other attorneys as requested. The position requires the ability to multitask effectively and balance working on multiple requests and projects on a daily basis. Strong analytical and organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
This role is eligible to be on a hybrid work schedule after in-office training is completed.

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of legal documents and terminology
  • Knowledge of expense reporting, billing, and dictation
  • Assist with calendar calls and deposition scheduling, as needed
  • Experience with electronically opening and closing files
  • E-filing knowledge in preparation to file all types of discovery requests, responses to opposing counsel, and motions
  • Ability to handle pressure, interruptions, and multiple projects with frequently changing priorities and deadlines
  • Must have the ability to work as part of a team, as well as to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Perform administrative duties, including proofreading and editing all materials for extreme accuracy and clarity
  • Assist with travel plans, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by the Regional Director of Human Resources

Experience/Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience working in a law firm (Civil Litigation experience is preferred )
  • Exceptional organization skills.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
  • Teamwork oriented.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
