What you’ll do…
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional support to our legal professionals. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for law and a desire to contribute to the success of our organization. This position is based in the GEDC Practice Support Center in Southfield MI. and will require a daily commute and presence in the office at least four days a week.

What you’ll bring to the team…

  • Assist with legal case management, including document preparation, data entry, and organization.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys, including phone etiquette and scheduling appointments.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including electronic files and physical documents.
  • Organize and maintain a high level of organization in the office, including preparing and organizing legal documents, files, and correspondence.
  • Provide support to attorneys and other legal professionals as needed.
  • Utilize strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion in all matters.

What we require you have…

  • Keen attention to detail to identify inconsistencies, changes and note changes or corrections that are necessary for the company’s records.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate contract files
  • Comfortable communicating with multiple parties, including the GEDC Executive Team, Regional Leadership Team Members, front-line Team Members and vendor partners.
  • Ability to manage your own time and manage multiple tasks at once, staying on schedule, and focused on meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work within a team independently
  • Ability to identify issues, communicate potential solutions and implement them within your scope of responsibility.
  • Self-motivated and strong analytical skills
  • Attention to detail, prioritization skill and time management
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office—Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in all matters.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
