WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Aird & Berlis LLP is looking for a Legal Assistant to join our Litigation Department. The successful candidate should have previous litigation experience and excellent knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure. The ideal candidate should have strong time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. This varied practice is best suited to an assistant that likes a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years’ previous experience as a Legal Assistant in Litigation
  • Successful completion of a related post-secondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk program
  • Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Handle time pressure situations and stress of multiple demand

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and edit both legal and non-legal documentation as required
  • Create litigation documents which may include Motion Records, Pleadings, Notices, Affidavits, Affidavits of Documents and Factums
  • Monitor and maintain tickler system
  • Organize and coordinate large files
  • Plan detailed travel itineraries
  • Handle daily administrative details
  • Manage duties related to on-boarding clients, accounting, docketing, monthly billing and expenses
  • Accountable for all work assigned

Requirements:
