Description:
Our client in Charlotte, NC is seeking to add a Legal Assistant/Office Manager to join them. This role involves managing administrative and legal support functions, overseeing daily office operations, and assisting with case management. It’s an exciting opportunity to work in the legal industry, where you will have a key role in maintaining client relationships and ensuring the smooth running of their office.
The Office Manager/Legal Assistant will manage a variety of administrative and legal support functions, including billing, drafting legal documents, running conflict checks, and handling financial transactions. This role also involves overseeing the daily operations of the office, managing client relations, and assisting attorneys with case management. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in legal assistance and office management, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities:Legal Support:
- Draft, review, and finalize engagement letters for new and existing clients.
- Conduct comprehensive conflict checks to ensure compliance with ethical standards.
- Assist attorneys with drafting and formatting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
- File and organize legal documents in electronic filing systems.
- Manage and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Assist with preparing documents for court filings, including e-filing in various jurisdictions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal assistant or office manager in a law firm setting.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and document formatting.
- Proficiency with legal billing software and trust accounting principles.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion.
- A proactive, self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
