Applications are being accepted for a Legal Assistant/Paralegal with senior level experience to join a busy commercial litigation practice, which includes construction law and employment law.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing documents and correspondence relating to the litigation process, including pleadings, summaries, reports, briefs, and Affidavits of Records.
  • Communicating with clients, counsel, and 3rd party experts.
  • Managing electronic calendars and diary system.
  • Monitoring and maintaining file progress and responding to general correspondence.
  • Electronic and physical file organization.
  • All day-to-day administrative/clerical tasks including billing, opening/closing files, filing, photocopying, and scanning.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and works autonomously.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Able to effectively time manage, prioritize and multi-task.
  • Reliable and accountable.

Other Knowledge:

  • Strong computer and technical skills.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience in Eclipse, IPro, Everlaw, iManage, and Acumin programs is an asset.
