Description:

Working as part of the legal & compliance team, this role will be responsible for the preservation, collection, and production of legal documents, ensuring consistent standards, processes, and methods are used. The main purpose of the role is to support and maintain D&F Property wordings, Data Protection and broader legal & compliance processes across Westfield Specialty.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support Head of Legal in providing wordings support to D&F Property underwriting division, and support all business functions in data protection matters;
  • Review and negotiate TOBAs, Non-disclosure agreements, service level agreements and consultancy agreements;
  • Provide support to Westfield Specialty to maintain internal governance policies and procedures for:
  • GDPR, and provision of advice on the handling of data breach responses in line with Westfield Specialty data privacy framework;
  • Product related Lloyd’s, FCA/PRA and (where applicable) EU regulatory requirements
  • Supporting strategic, legal initiatives and special projects, such as uniform use of standard contractual agreements, Westfield Specialty branded policy wordings;
  • Identification of proactive solutions to mitigate or eliminate risks to the business;
  • Oversight of policy wordings for Lloyd’s and (when applicable) company platforms;
  • Co-ordinate with US General Counsel team on data protection issues affecting Westfield Specialty. Deliver/facilitate legal and regulatory training for Westfield Specialty business units on new and on-going legal and regulatory issues, including wordings.
  • 1-4 years of experience in working in financial or professional services, with legal & compliance experience desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law
  • CII desired but not essential

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge in data protection
  • Knowledge of wordings in Lloyd’s or company market, a willingness to engage in on the job training

EXPERIENCE

  • Dispute resolution / claims handling in D&F Property desirable
  • Data protection
