WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Aird & Berlis LLP is seeking a Legal Assistant with experience in Estates or Tax for this dynamic role. This position involves a substantial focus on document preparation, along with responsibilities related to vaulting. The ideal candidate will possess meticulous attention to detail and a passion for the diverse tasks associated with both legal assistance and vaulting work.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of three years’ previous experience as a Legal Assistant in Estates or Tax
- Successful completion of a related post-secondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk program
- Handle time pressure situations and stress of multiple demands
- Flexible to the changing demands of the job
SKILLS:
- Microsoft 365 suite of applications
- Willing to learn a customized Wills Database
- Ability to problem solve

Responsibilities:
- Proofread, finalize and assemble estate planning documents including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts and reporting documentation
- Attending as a second witness for client signatures and see it through to completion including updating our specialized database
- Assist with Wills Vault administration as needed
- Vault original Estate and Trust documents
- Respond to Vault requests in a timely manner
- Scan, file and e-file documentation
- Handle daily administrative details
- Manage duties related to accounting
