Description:
Job Summary: We seek a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Case Manager/Paraleagal specializing in Social Security Disability (SSD) to join our growing legal team. This role is ideal for someone with experience managing SSD cases from intake through adjudication and who is passionate about assisting clients in navigating the complex SSD process. The Legal Case Manager will work closely with attorneys, clients, medical professionals, and government agencies to ensure the successful preparation and submission of claims.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Paralegal certification or experience in a legal field is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a legal environment,Experience in other areas of law (such as workers’ compensation or personal injury).
- Preferred Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the Social Security Disability application and appeals process, including an understanding of SSA policies, disability criteria, and medical terminology.
SKILLS:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal matters to clients.
- Highly organized with an ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
- Detail-oriented and able to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software. Salesforce experience is a plus!

Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of Social Security Disability claims, including case intake, documentation, filing, and follow-up. Ensure all necessary paperwork is submitted to the Social Security Administration (SSA) promptly and accurately.
- Client Communication: Serve as clients’ primary point of contact throughout the SSD process. Provide clear updates and assist clients with understanding their rights, the application process, and what to expect during hearings or appeals.
- Document Review and Preparation: Review client medical records, work history, and other relevant documentation to ensure all required information is included for the SSD claim. Prepare and submit applications, appeals, and other related documents.
- Appeals and Hearings Support: Assist in gathering evidence, preparing case files, and ensuring timely submission for appeals and hearings before the Administrative Law Judge (ALJ).
- Medical and Vocational Expert Coordination: Coordinate with medical professionals and vocational experts to gather necessary information and documentation that supports the client’s case.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, tracking case progress, deadlines, and upcoming events.
- Compliance: Ensure that all legal and regulatory deadlines are met, including SSA deadlines, and comply with all applicable privacy laws and confidentiality requirements.
