Description:
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Legal Cashier to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions within a legal environment, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and maintaining accurate financial records. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and familiarity with various accounting software. Previous experience in a legal cashier position, along with a SOLAS qualification, is required.
Reporting To The Partner, Your Key Responsibilities will include
- Process all financial transactions accurately.
- Conducting daily and monthly bank reconciliations. ensuring all payments are accurately recorded
- Processing invoices and disbursements for legal services
- Prepare monthly and year-end financial reports as required, providing insights into cash flow and account status.
- Monitor client accounts for irregularities and reporting any discrepancies
- Liaise with clients and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies or queries related to financial transactions.
- Managing incoming and outgoing CHAPS & BACS payments through online banking
- Process petty cash payments and expenses
- Ensure compliance with the Law Society of Scotland accounts rules and other relevant regulations.
- Handling of general account queries
- Assist with other legal finance related tasks as required by the team
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting software or systems as needed
EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in a legal cashiering role or similar financial position is essential.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills.
