WHAT IT’S ABOUT

The Corporate Legal team acts as legal partner to the Group and its internal stakeholders, and provides legal advice on a wide variety of matters and projects with a strong focus on enabling the business units while safeguarding our interests and reputation.
Partners Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced (Senior) Legal Counsel specializing in data privacy and technology to join our Data Privacy and Technology Team within the Corporate Legal business unit.
As a (Senior) Legal Counsel for Data Privacy and Technology, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations and providing legal support on technology-related matters across our global operations, with a focus on Europe and the GDPR. This is an opportunity to shape the future of data privacy and technology at Partners Group.

You will work closely with senior management and external stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal risks and to improve Partners Group’s compliance with the law. You will have a broad scope of responsibilities, including supporting the Group on a wide variety of projects of strategic importance, and plenty of opportunities to take ownership.

  • Provide accurate and timely legal advice on data privacy, cybersecurity and technology-related matters to internal stakeholders, including senior management
  • Evaluate and manage compliance with relevant data privacy laws, including the GDPR, and proactively advise on possible legal issues
  • Draft, review and negotiate data privacy and protection terms, such as data processing terms, transfer impact assessments, technical and organizational measures (TOMs), for complex commercial agreements, such as master service agreements, statements of work, and business technology agreements
  • Develop and implement data protection strategy, policies and procedures
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with data privacy and technology
  • Design, implement and conduct data privacy training and awareness program
  • Lead legal response to data breaches, data subject requests and other cybersecurity incidents.
  • Provide strategic direction and deliver on global data privacy initiatives
  • Provide subject matter expertise on data privacy assessments, data subject requests, personal data incidents, legitimate interest assessments, data protection impact assessments, records of processing activities, etc.
  • Manage and coordinate with external counsel, as required
  • Act as a contact in for members of staff, regulators and any relevant public bodies on issues related to data protection
