We are seeking a Legal counsel for a 12-month interim position. As Legal counsel, you will be working on a broad range of legal issues across the business. You will be an important discussion partner for other functions within the company, including management.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify, manage and mitigate risk at all stages of the contracting process.
- Identify and mitigate potential liabilities and risks associated with third-party vendors, internal business practices, contract negotiations and corporate policies.
- Assist in creating and improving agreements and templates.
- Advise business units with respect to legal issues related to the development and implementation of its business strategy, governance and compliance policies.
- Support corporate governance and administration for the group companies.
- Support on employment law issues and whistle-blowing cases.
- Assist on GDPR-related matters.
- Assist in the permitting/licensing processes in connection with our sailings.
- Provide legal advice in relation to Package Tour Act (terms & conditions, irregular operations) and support our guest relation team in handling customer claims.
- Supervise outside counsel.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Masters degree in Law with strong academic results.
- 3-4 years’ experience working as an attorney in a commercial law firm and/or as inhouse counsel.
- Bar exam (preferred, but not a requirement).
- Some experience with employment law, whistleblowing cases and/or GDPR (preferred, but not a requirement)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (English and Norwegian).
