Description:

To strengthen our commitment to ethical integrity, we are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Business Ethics team. We are a team of dedicated professionals collaborating on some of Denmark’s most impactful and sustainable projects, specializing in business ethics and CSR. Our team works alongside ESG, HR, and Sustainable Procurement, advancing key initiatives in anti-corruption, partner due diligence, and compliance.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Review and assess COWI’s business ethics related policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure alignment with applicable laws and regulations in the many jurisdictions where COWI runs its business.
- Conduct legal research to stay updated on emerging regulations and best practices in business ethics and ESG.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training programs on business ethics and compliance for COWI employees at all levels.
- Advise on potential ethical and legal risks and not least, propose useful mitigation measures.
- Collaborate closely with COWI’s ESG team to develop and implement initiatives that support the organization’s ESG objectives.

On top of that, you will have:
- Education as either cand.jur, cand.merc.jur or a similar educational qualification from abroad.
- A minimum of three years of practical experience with a focus on business ethics compliance, CSR, ESG or similar areas is required.
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to business ethics and ESG.
- Experience in collaborating with ESG professionals, would be highly desirable.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills, with an ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of COWI’s organization, including top management.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Great organizational skills along with the ability to manage multiple complex problems simultaneously.
- Excellent skills in oral and written Danish and English
