ABOUT THE ROLE

As Legal Counsel supporting the Americas, you will be involved in day-to-day legal support to the region, advising on commercial, corporate and operationally relevant matters to support the growth of the company, with a focus on the Americas. This role requires proactivity, autonomy, and drive, as well as significant commercial acumen to help draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements with exciting partners and to support complex global productions. All of this within a fast-paced scale-up with significant presence in North and South America and undergoing an ambitious regional expansion throughout the continent.
You will have the opportunity to work in multiple areas of the law, and be required to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders globally. You will be expected to work in the following areas, with a focus on the Americas (and occasionally providing additional support in similar tasks to other jurisdictions around the world):
- Drafting / revising key commercial contracts, terms and conditions, RFP submission documentation and similar legal documents
- Support commercial teams in the negotiation of commercial deals and documents
- Learning about legislation and jurisdictions in the Americas for the matters entrusted to you
- Advising on general legal matters related to a sundry of Americas markets and our product fit and compliance within them
- Advice on engagement of, and coordinate and prioritize work of external legal advisors
- Assist and participate in knowledge management and operational excellence within Legal, including by identifying the need for and participating in preparation of templates, guides, processes and similar documents and tools
- Participate in ongoing compliance functions and product advice as required
- Prioritize your and others’ work
In order to be successful in this role, you will:
- Be a barred / practicing lawyer, with 5+ years of PQE in the legal field (corporate or law firm) in an Americas jurisdiction
- Have academic legal training in the US or Canada, and 2+ years of PQE working within one of these two countries
- Native speaker of Spanish or English, with a professional command of the other (fluency in any other language is a plus)
- Have experience in top-notch companies or top-tier law-firms
- Have a keen eye for strategy and business, and be committed to company goals
- Possess strong technical skills
- Be an effective communicator who brings emotional intelligence to wor
