We are looking for an individual to join us as Legal Counsel, EMEA on a permanent basis.
Our Legal Counsel, EMEA will provide legal and commercial expertise to the BSI Group as a member of the Legal department. This will primarily include providing legal support to the BSI’s EMEA business on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters with a focus on commercial law.
The role will be an excellent business partner to the business, assisting business colleagues in the drafting, negotiation, review and approval of contracts for BSI’s EMEA businesses, including advising on tender documentation, supplier contracts, amendments to contracts and partner agreements. In addition, you will manage commercial projects, including creating project plans, liaising with business colleagues, negotiating with external partners and taking the lead in concluding a wide range of contracts.
This position will be working in a hybrid capacity, with an expectation of 2-3 days per week at our EMEA HQ in Milton Keynes where the majority of the stakeholders will be based at. We can also consider suitable candidates to be based in our Group HQ in London, with the expectation of frequent travels to Milton Keynes to foster business relationships with stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will have:-

  • 2+ years of post qualification experience.
  • 2.1 or above degree classification in English law, or similar Solicitor/Barrister qualified in England and Wales, or similar qualification in an analogous jurisdiction.
  • Commercially astute, focused on adding value and operate with a pragmatic approach.
  • Legal training and post qualification experience with a leading law firm will be hugely advantageous.
  • Experience as part of an in-house legal department of an organisation preferable.
  • Excellent business partnering, planning and organisational skills; ability to work and drive progress independently.
  • Demonstrates gravitas with senior stakeholders.
