Our Legal Counsel, Global Commercial is the designated lead point of contact within the S+N Legal team for Smith+Nephew’s Global Procurement organisation. The role supports on strategy and implementation of technology, processes and tools within Global Procurement and various international internal customers.

What will you be doing?

  • Identifying and mitigating legal risk and opportunity within business activities in Global Procurement, particularly commercial contract drafting/review and advising on routine and operational matters.
  • Supporting the team on legal risk management and contracting for Global Operations (supply chain, manufacturing, R&D, regulatory and quality affairs, ESG).
  • Proactively handling routine legal matters and contract management and ensuring consistent use of template agreements.
  • Support on commercial litigation and assisting the wider legal team in delivering training programmes.

Successful candidates would need the following:

  • A Qualified solicitor in with 5+ years of experience either in house or in a law firm with significant commercial contract drafting, review and negotiation skills.
  • Life sciences/manufacturing or supplier contracting experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Whilst this role can be hybrid you’ll need to be within a commutable distance of our Watford office.
