The Position

Responsibilities:

YOUR ROLE:

As Legal Counsel, you will partner with various UK and global business areas from early research and development to product commercialisation. You will ensure compliance with group-wide legal policies, supporting strategic corporate projects, and managing internal knowledge. You will also advise on digital and data privacy matters and contribute to key global and local procurement initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Corporate:
  • Collaborate with the Roche group to ensure adherence to global legal policies and procedures.
  • Interpreting EU / UK / Irish law and regulations.
  • Advising on legal issues in multiple fields, including healthcare compliance, commercial, value & access
  • Advise on people & culture matters.
  • Support strategic corporate initiatives, including acquisitions and compliance-related projects.
  • Implement contract automation and provide training to enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Manage internal knowledge to ensure compliance with global and local policies.
  • Commercial:
  • Partner with the UK business, focusing on commercial matters, providing competition, digital, data privacy, AI, and innovative legal solutions.
  • Advise on global and local procurement agreements and student/apprenticeship contracts
  • Oversee customer contract reviews and support tender processes.
  • Provide legal advice to Medical Affairs and other business functions.
  • R&D:
  • Support clinical, regulatory, medical device, and quality matters.
  • Coordinate legal processes with global R&D lawyers to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Data Privacy:
  • Assist the local DPO deliver on compliance priorities, projects and initiatives
  • Support the legal team’s provision of advice to the business in relation to data privacy and matters.
  • Work on a variety of privacy work streams e.g. data subject access requests, data incidents, Data Protection Impact Assessments
  • Horizon Scanning:
  • Monitor legislative changes, assess risks and opportunities, and integrate key legal considerations into business strategy and risk management.
