EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
We’re looking for a Commercial Lawyer to join our dynamic and diverse Legal team, based at our head office in Coventry. In this role, you’ll act as a legal business partner to our Innovation and Commercial teams, providing legal services for Commercial, Procurement, Intellectual Property and Data Protection matters. As an in-house lawyer, you’ll be open to taking on new challenges and new ways of thinking. You’ll provide high quality legal advice to your business areas, having regard to the need for appropriate management of corporate legal risk and delivery of legal services to the company. This role would suit lawyers who have a commercial background, and prior experience working on regulated procurement is desirable.
Your other key accountabilities will include:
- Providing excellent legal support on a broad range of non-contentious matters
- Proactively identifying and undertaking activity to meet strategic business plans and company performance targets
- Considering any forthcoming changes in legal or regulatory requirements which could impact the business (either positively or negatively)
- Proactively considering strategic/policy objectives of the company with a view to influencing key internal and external stakeholders
- Ensuring customers’ needs are at the heart of all advice and decisions
Responsibilities:
We’re looking for a qualified professional with extensive industry experience providing legal services across a broad range of non-contentious matters. A strong commercial acumen, with an understanding of the need to balance legal risk against achieving business strategy would be beneficial.
You’ll be a great team player, will seek to understand the business, and help to deliver its strategic objectives and the vision of the General Counsel team. You will benefit from the support of colleagues throughout the business and drive to ensure we create an awesome place to work. As a member of the Legal team, you will be part of the wider General Counsel directorate, which also includes Group Compliance and Assurance.
