Description:

Job Title: Legal Counsel
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week
Salary: up to £55,000 and up to 20% bonus and benefits
Location: hybrid work from Blackpool
Reporting line: General Counsel

Responsibilities:

  • Corporate advisory: advise internal stakeholders (and negotiate with external counterparts where relevant) on fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and intra-group agreements
  • Finance advisory: advise internal stakeholders and negotiate with external counterparts on external financing and structuring
  • Company Secretarial / Governance: Provide legal and company secretarial advice and support to the Chairman, the Board, and its sub-committees
  • Investor relations: support the team in managing investor relations
  • Commercial: review commercial agreements and work with stakeholders to negotiate agreements that deliver the services required by the Tandem teams
  • Supporting and advising Tandem s teams from across the business with effective and wide-ranging legal and strategic advice on a variety of matters and projects including general banking and regulatory matters, documentation, related client issues, employment, pensions, commercial, compliance, IP, IT, litigation, marketing and advertising and data protection
  • Support the organisation in managing outside counsel relationships in a demonstrably cost-effective manner
  • Legal advice on client relevant and other literature across the business, including review of terms and conditions and advertising. Ensure all output is compliant with current and proposed regulations relating to operation of the Bank
  • Deliver and/or provide input to training to the business on regulatory and other legal matters.
  • Stay up to date with relevant changes in the law
