JOB DESCRIPTION
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Legal Director, APAC - CTD to lead all legal and contract matters in the Asia-Pacific Region for our Clinical Trials Division (CTD). In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the growth and strategic business initiatives of the Clinical Trials Division within China and the broader Asia-Pacific Region.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Admitted to practice law with a bachelor’s degree in law or above from a reputable law school.
- Minimum 10 years counsel experience, with at least 5 years in-house counsel experience with a multinational corporation.
- Demonstrated strong understanding of legal matters, business operations, and critical decision-making.
- Impressive skills in organization and analysis, providing meticulous attention to detail and a focus on problem-solving.
- Mature personality with high integrity, self-motivation, and dynamic interpersonal skills.
- Strong team leader and player with a willingness to take responsibility.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support to CTD to enable the achievement of business goals within an acceptable risk profile.
- Support regulatory, quality, and privacy requirements in China and other APAC jurisdictions.
- Lead a team of contract and legal professionals to develop, maintain, and update contract templates. Drive continuous process improvements to better support transactions for the maximum realization of business opportunities.
- Lead governmental interactions, licenses, investigations, disputes and legal proceedings in the relevant areas effectively and provide practical solutions to the management for dispute resolution.
- Responsibly handle governmental interactions, licenses, investigations, disputes, and legal proceedings.
- Collaborate with Company Legal teams in China, the broader APAC Region, and globally on projects and drive implementation and adoption of project outcomes.
- Build strong working relationships with business partners at all levels and collaborate effectively within the Legal Department and the company.
- Engage and supervise external attorneys in a cost-effective manner.
- Lead Legal awareness training design and delivery to assigned business units and functions.
- Support corporate governance projects and employment matters as assigned.
- Provide proactive Legal support to assigned projects and initiatives, including relating to the broader Pharma Services Group’s business operations.
