REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • 7 years+ PQE
  • UK and EU incentives and remuneration regulation experience
  • Excellent organizational, communication and presentational skills (oral and written)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: An ability to build and maintain strong relationships with relevant business groups within the firm; an ability to work with a team of diverse individuals; and an ability to work collaboratively and as part of a Legal team that is dispersed geographically
  • A commitment to excellence in your work product; highly motivated and proactive; the ability to respond calmly, creatively and quickly in a fast-paced, high-pressure, changing environment; a willingness to take ownership of projects and a strong work ethic
  • Excellent judgment and ability to assess risks; ability to react swiftly to protect the firm’s interests; keen business acumen

Responsibilities:

SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic and technical advice on EMEA remuneration regulation
  • Advising on the design and development of new inventive and reward structures in light of applicable EMEA law and financial services regulation
  • Collaborating with members of HCM leadership and advising them on Board Remuneration Committee materials and remuneration governance generally
  • Presenting to the Board Remuneration Committees across EMEA
  • Advising on and assisting with maintaining excellent regulatory relationships in this space

GENERALIST RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In addition to your Specialist Responsibilities, you will also be contributing to the broader ELG practice. You might be advising on employment-related disputes and litigation, whistleblowing investigations, disciplinaries and grievances, or you might be advising on Diversity Equity & Inclusion Programs, HCM policy development or the employment aspects of Goldman Sachs corporate transactions including outsourcings, restructurings and workforce integrations.
