A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LEGAL EXPERT IN THE GENERAL LEGAL AFFAIRS TEAM

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic member of one of our legal teams: General Legal Affairs. In your role as legal expert, you will

• identify and manage legal risk within your area of expertise, by providing hands-on, meaningful and timely legal advice to all business lines of ING Belgium, ensure they comply with and embed applicable law, regulation and policy;
• act as key legal business partner to your main internal clients (a.o. business delivery, accounts, digital sales and digital adoption, pricing, KYC, customer experience and value proposition). Providing business driven and risk based legal advice, assisting with regulatory interactions, handling legal claims (with assistance of external counsel), drafting contracts, terms and conditions, validating customer journeys and marketing material, etc.
• work closely with other legal colleagues in Belgium and abroad, with compliance, risk management and regulatory teams, and with the supported businesses
• follow up closely on regulatory developments within your area of expertise, participate actively to sector discussions in this respect, and provide both your other legal colleagues and ING’s business lines proactively with in depth, relevant and to the point information on upcoming regulatory developments
